こどもの日（ひ）5月5日　Children’s Day May 5th

5月ごがつ5日いつかは、「こどもの日ひ」です。日本にほんでは、「こどもの日ひ」は国民こくみんの祝日しゅくじつです。 昔むかしは5月ごがつ5日いつかは「端午たんごの節句せっく」でした。その日ひは、男おとこの子こが元気げんきに育そだつように、お祝いわいをする日ひでした。毎年まいとし、いろいろな場所ばしょで、たくさんのイベントがあります。

May 5th is Children’s Day. In Japan, Children’s Day is a national holiday. Originally, May 5th was called “Tango-no-Sekku. We celebrated boys to hope grow up healthy on the day. Every year, there are many events held in various places.

4月しがつの桜さくらの時ときが終おわった後、男おとこの子こがいる家族かぞくの庭にわには、「鯉こいのぼり」を飾かざります。 庭にわのポールの高たかさも1.5いってんごmメートル—から4mよんメートルと高たかさがいろいろなタイプがあります。

After the cherry blossom season in April, “koinobori” (carp streamers) are displayed in the gardens of families with boys. The height of the poles displayed in the garden varies from 1.5 meters to 4 meters.

　

マンションやアパートなどに住すむんでいて、庭にわがない家いえは、ベランダに「鯉こいのぼり」を飾かざります。最近さいきんでは、家いえの中なかに飾かざる「鯉こいのぼり」もあります。その家族かぞくの生活せいかつスタイルによって、選えらぶことができます。

If you don’t have a garden because live in an apartment or condominiums, you can also decorate your balcony with “koinobori” (carp streamers) . These days, there are also “koinobori (carp streamers) ” that are displayed inside of the house. You can choose according to the lifestyle of the family.

鯉こいのぼりは、一番上に「吹き流し」があります。青（緑）、赤、黄色、白、黒（紫）の5色です。この5色は、悪わるいものから体からだを守まもるという意味いみがあるようです。最近さいきんは、吹ふき流ながしもいろいろなスタイルがあります。

Koi Noboris have a “Filomagashi ( streamer )” at the top. There are five colors: blue (green), red, yellow, white, and black (purple). These five colors seem to have the meaning of protecting the body from bad things. These days, there are many different styles of “Fukinagashi ( streamer )”.

黒くろい鯉こいはお父とうさんで、真鯉まごいと言いいます。赤はやい鯉こいは、お母かあさんで、緋鯉ひごいと言いいます。青あおい鯉こいは、子供こどもを表あらわしています。

The black koi (carp) is the father and it is called “magoi”. The red koi (carp) is the mother, called “higoi”. The blue koi (carp) represents the children.

鯉こいのぼりのサイズも、いろいろあります。

There are various sizes of carp streamers.

 

面白おもしろい鯉こいのぼりを見みつけました。 ポールと鯉こいのぼりのサイズがアンバランスでした。 私わたしも初はじめて長ながいポールに小ちいさい鯉こいのぼりを見みました。

I found funny koinobori (carp streamers) . The size of the pole and the koinobori were unbalanced. It was the first time for me to see a small koinobori (carp streamers) on a long pole.
